Church Centenary
In 2022, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of there being a Catholic Church in Hawarden. In preparation for this great occasion, at the end of each Mass we light the Jubilee Candle and pray the Jubilee Prayer together.
Our 100th anniversary Mass was celebrated by

PRAYER FOR THE JUBILEE YEAR OF
SACRED HEART CHURCH HAWARDEN
1922-2022
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we, Your Church of Hawarden, look forward with joy and prayer to the celebration of the Great Jubilee of our parish.
Hear our prayer and send forth your Spirit on us during this time of preparation, so that we might be a parish community that is reconciling, forgiving and faithful to your teachings. As we prepare for the centenary celebration, we remember and pray for all the priests and people who have served and all the faithful members of this parish vineyard.
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we ask you to continue to bless our parish to proclaim the Good News, so that all peoples may come to know you as their Lord and Saviour through our Church.
May we your Church, with the help of Mary our Mother, become a true sacrament to the world. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
